I bought a cheaper product originally and it stopped working so I replaced it with the Tiny Hands Baby Nail File. It is easy to find replacement pads but they are really well-made and last much longer than the filing pads from other nail files.

I've had to buy replacement pads as if the paper is already coming off from continuous use. While my husband feeds our soon I can do both hands and feet before he's able to finish. This nail filer is really good! I used a manual one for my first baby and it was hard to control and takes too long. With the electric one I usually just trim his finger nails when feeding him. He doesn't object to it, and its gentle enough it won't hurt him even if I accidentally file his soft finger tips. I also use the other filing heads on myself, trimming nails and cuticles. Very pleased with my purchase.

After my husband and I both nicked our preemie newborn�s delicate fingertips with traditional baby clippers, we were terrified to try again. (I cried 10 times more than our daughter when I saw the blood.) But she is very prone to scratch her face and finds mittens uncomfortable, so we had to find a solution. Our pediatric dermatologist recommended an electric file, and our world began anew. This product is truly a lifesaver. I tested it on myself before trying on our daughter, and it�s a feather-soft touch. I�ve used it to trim her nails four times now (always while she is sleeping; highly recommended to minimize wiggles), and am beyond pleased. It files her nails down effectively without distributing her one bit. Not only is it quiet, but I tested it on myself first, and you can barely feel it. The only drawback is that can be a little difficult to file down the outer corners of her nails, but it�s achievable with patience and definitely helps that you can reverse the direction that the file spins. The light is helpful, too � although the angle is slightly off, so it�s more useful for an initial inspection of the nail than for providing illumination when you�re filing. Regardless, I wish someone had told us about this product before we tried the clippers... It will definitely be the first item we buy for all our friends� future baby showers!

With the first kid, used a file and eventually nail clippers. Both methods took forever. With the second kid, again starting with the file, but went to the nail clippers sooner because the file took too long (now with a toddler around, I have less time to focus on filing the second's nails). After clipping the second's finger with the nail clippers, was too freaked out to use it again. Was skeptical of an electric file, but wish I had gotten it with my first! It has reduced the time spent (maybe 5 secs per nail now compared to 30 secs) and the toddler doesn't squirm around when it's his turn.

I am so upset I didn�t buy this sooner. Clipping my baby�s nails was awful. My baby hated sitting still for it and it brought me to tears when I accidentally got her little finger. Ok I do not review items but I had to for this one! As a new mom little nails are the scariest thing to cut (I was sweating the first time I did it), however those little razors can scratch up your LO�s face like crazy. This file was great. He just sat in my lap and let me do all his fingers and toes (he�s 3 mos). They are now short and we�ve had no scratches on our face! Love it.

This tool is gentle, any pressure on the top stops the it from spinning. So, if you get too close to skin it will stop before you damage the skin. I wish I would have had this tool when my kids were tiny; I would have been able to easily file down the sharp corners of their infant nails and keep them from scratching themselves.

I am terrified of clipping my my son's nails with a nail trimmer and getting the skin. This is a great solution! It takes a bit to get the hang of it, and it does make the nails razor sharp if you don't file them correctly but I still prefer this over clipping. It's easiest to use when the baby is sleeping, when they are awake it makes them uncomfortable.

There are a bunch of tips to choose from depending on how sensitive the baby is or how thick the nail is. There are multiple speeds going both ways too. I got this for my newborn's nails. It is okay. It definitely was better than cutting those tiny nails in the beginning. It has two directions and speeds that it can go and if I had more time to make her nails perfect it might do the job. When used across her nails it leaves the edges sharp. It almost makes a U shape of the nail. I now just cut them and use this to soften the edge.

It's so hard for us to cut our babies nail. After a few failed attempts with baby clippers, we had to find another option. This works good as a substitute for clippers. It will prevent snipping our babies fingers ever again. It does take a little learning curve to get good with, but worth it.

This electric nail file is soooooo helpful! I've been manually filing my baby's nails for SIX MONTHS...a nightmare. My LO is particularly squirmy, and I could never get the edges. It was super difficult to file my LO's nails, and I was too afraid to clip them. My LO was constantly scratching her face, and her nails needed to be filed CONSTANTLY. This thing is amazing! Seriously one of the best purchases I�ve made when it comes to baby care items. My little guy was wiggling and kicking the whole time and it still only took a few minutes to do all of his nails and his big toes with no risk of hurting him (or even bothering him) at all! I tried to use the standard nail clippers on our baby, but he moved around too much. Our friends recommended this nail trimmer to us and let us borrow theirs. We used the white tip to trim his nails (more like "buff" his nails). It's so gentle that even when he squirmed or wiggled, it was ok because it was gentle on his skin. Love it!!!

If you also have a baby dragon, get this baby file. I swear my daughter has retractable claws which she digs into me while we nurse. No matter how much I clip, chew or peel her nails off I would not get them short enough and walked around looking like I was mauled by a wolverine. This takes about the same effort as it would with a regular filer. But the results are better and gives better finish. Once you get the hang of it you can totally avoid scratching the skin underneath the baby's nail which was difficult with a regular filer. AA battery operated, easy to install and replace. Only used it a couple of times on 1 month old, so can't speak about how much the battery lasts and product durability at this point. Not the cheapest but we find it totally worth for smaller babies.

Life saver. Nicked babies skin with the normal Safety 1st baby clippers. After clipping them her nails were still sharp and it was so hard to file them using a regular nail file. No matter how many times I cut and file, I just couldn�t get it. I got this product on Friday and use it immediately. I lived how fast it took. And I even did it while my baby girl was awake, sitting in my lap. Whereas before I would try to do it while she was sleeping which was difficult due to positioning. I highly recommended this product for all new parents. It has made grooming a lot easier. And I love the fact that it has attachments to use on my nails too. And it works great on my nails.

These are perfect. My baby came out with sharp nails and had scratched her face before we left the delivery room. The newborn head is super soft (it doesn�t hurt when you put it against your own skin at all) and lets baby sleep completely through nail trims. No blood at all and her skin doesn�t seem damaged at all by it even when it hits her skin a little. We�ve only been using the newborn attachment at low speed which has worked perfectly.

Why didn't I buy this sooner!!!! This is a MUST for anyone with a baby or baby on waynor kids!! You need to put this on your registry!! Sooooooooo easy and trims great, better than nail file. Only down side the light sucks and is worthless on the device and you really need to be in a well lit area or have someone hold a flashlight while using device with baby nails as they can be aes judge and see what you are doing..

This tool is a total gem!! I have yet to clip my baby's nails, I only file them, but it takes me quite a while and the baby nail files are tricky to hold. But this tool makes it a breeze! And I'm done so quickly! I can do it when he is asleep and he doesn't even flinch. Excellent product!! My baby is currently 3 months old and the pink setting works beautifully for his nails.

The hospital pediatrician told us not to use clippers, but to file baby's nails. My husband was terrified to use this, and I was skeptical after reading mixed reviews, but there was no other option so we bought it. There is a lovely youtube video of a dad showing how to use this thing on his baby and you can tell how safe and painless it is. My husband is a baby manicure pro now. Use the gentle pink one on newborn nails and our baby doesn't wake up.�

I absolutely LOVE THIS! I ordered it to use on my newborn because I was sooo afraid of clipping his nails. I�ve used it just about every other day since he was born (Babies nails grow extremely fast) and I haven�t had to replace the batteries as yet....he�s 6 months old. The softest pad made for newborns is so gentle. He�s never cried while getting his nails filed down. He actually relaxes while getting it done.

I really like this! I was terrified of clipping my daughter's nails after hearing horror stories from my friends about cutting their babies fingers with convention clippers. Though all of the attachments seem over kill and the light does a poor job at all of shining past the attachment, the attachments that I use work well and the light is really intreaguing to my baby so that buys me a little time of her being still enough for long enough to get the job done. Just make sure the room is well lit and you'll be ok.

I LOVE that this comes with adult filing ends as well! My baby isn't expected to be here for another month (GAH) but I took this out of the package to test and get used to it. I was so nervous about trimming our brand new little baby's nails, it's not like cutting adult nails, they're week and their nail beds extend a ways into the white of the nail so you can hurt your little one on accident pretty easily. Just trimmed hers today, she was awake the whole time, 5 days old and she didn't even seems to care that we were filing them down. Totally worth the stress relief in my opinion. Will be very useful for months and maybe years to come with our little one.

�A friend suggested this file and it was a godsend. The vibrations and noise didn't bother baby one bit, and we had successful trims every time. Now that he's bigger and I can comfortably use little clippers, I use this file on my own nails since the bits include both baby and adult attachment. Great deal for that price.

I run a breastfeeding group on Facebook with hundreds of moms who are always worried about clipping babies nails... rightfully so because it�s a terrible experience for both mom/dad and baby! This is a great nail trimmer. Clipping a baby's nails is scary stuff, so we got this instead. It takes a few passes over our baby's fingernails to file them, and sometimes she gets bored and cries, so we have to file the rest of her nails later. She hates sitting still though, so it's not really the nail file's fault. It's so much better and easier to use this than a regular clipper or nail file. The instructions were well-written, there are several different file tip options depending on the age of the child, and there is an adult tip included, so I can use it for my nails too. It comes in a sturdy case and the light on the unit is really useful when filing nails. It seems really well made. There are also some cute stickers included. This is one of the best purchases we made for our baby.

This product worked very well. I was worried the trimmer would hurt my baby�s hand but it does not. My boys actually seem to enjoy it. I was trying to use a standard fingernail file but it wouldn�t shave the nail enough and it took to long. I bought this and it trimmed my boy�s nails in seconds.
